The open house is the culminating summer project of museum interns Moira Miller, Olivia Hiner and Owen Sainiak. Miller is an archaeology major and rising senior at the College of Wooster. Hiner is a rising senior studying anthropology at Kenyon College, and Sainiak is a graduate of Miami University. The interns will lead tours, answer questions and help bring the cabin’s history to life.

About the Workman Cabin

Morgan Workman built the cabin in 1838. Originally located east of Loudonville, it remained home to Workman’s descendants for nearly 100 years and also served as a Dunkard church.

The cabin was donated to the Mohican Historical Society in 1963 and moved to Central Park, where it served as headquarters for Loudonville’s Sesquicentennial Celebration. In recent years, it has undergone further restoration to better reflect its original appearance and purpose.
