Mark Sebastian Jordan returns to the Cleo Redd Fisher Museum in Loudonville on Monday, July 12, at 7 pm to talk about his latest research findings and to promote his new book, "The Ceely Rose Murders at Malabar Farm." The book, published by The History Press on June 28 will be available for purchase and signing by the author.  

Ceely Rose was a mentally-disturbed young woman who lived with her family in Pleasant Valley, near Perrysville, in the late 1800s. Convinced that she had to rid herself of obstacles to run away with the young man she had a crush on, Rose poisoned her family and attempted to poison the boy's family, too. By the time the young woman's series of attacks were finished, three people had been murdered, with an additional three attempted murders. The house where the incidents were centered is today part of Malabar Farm, the historical estate of writer Louis Bromfield.

Jordan first wrote about the case in the historical drama "Ceely," which was performed at Malabar Farm State Park for over a decade from 2003 to 2015. He has continued to research the case and speak about it all over the state of Ohio. Approached by The History Press to write a project for them, Jordan decided that the time had come to write the book of record on the Ceely Rose case.

During his final preparations for the book, Jordan discovered new information which brings insights to Ceely Rose's mental condition and its possible genetic sources. Jordan will give a summary of the case and speak about his new discoveries before selling and signing copies of the book for twenty dollars apiece.
